Good morning team ,
I trust you’re all well and itching to get out Wingfoil after what seems the longest winter in years , for one Iam glad Iam ditching the 5mm neoprene for a few months now! Looking around my local beaches I noticed a fair amount of our group out on the water all winter picking the 10oC warm-ish days! Great effort guys.

Firstly I’d like to thank you all for subscribing to our email listings here at Eastcoastwatersports, I’d like to thank all of your for support and joining us for lessons in the U.K. or perhaps one of our overseas trips, it certainly was a fantastic year for me on and off the water helping you all find your wingfoiling skills , Iam stoked on all of your progress so you can all give yourselves a big pat on the back , it’s really great showing you guys my local knowledge plus overseas water/area details also. Tides / water state / wind / no go zones/ the list goes on 😉

2023 season :-

Last year was one of those perfect years for wingfoiling , here in the U.K. our wind is all over the place from northerlies to south west, we’re super lucky on our “eastcoast” (excuse the plug) as we don’t have to travel that far to get out in some world class locations ! even tho our water colour is a little off !

We started off our official year in March meeting and helping some really loverly people ( now all friends ) we visited Alton Water a fair amount of times early in the season , on one of these days I was teaching Luke on a gybe course and while we were there we counted over 50 People on the water ! No wonder as wingfoiling is the fastest expanding watersport right now,
We’ve visited my own personal location HQ a fair few times also that’s Mersea island , I love wingfoiling here especially on a West wind direction, we’ve helped people master chugging upwind here, did you know !!! There’s a windsurf club here able to join at £45 per year , perfect to change in plus it has a kettle for the perfect cuppa at the end of a session! Get in Paul’s good books he’ll make it for you !

We ventured to Tenerife for one of our overseas holidays, Wow what a trip , with perfect wind and a surf bus to search out the best winds we were onto a winner !plus of course we had Dave White with us on his camera gear , Iam sure you may have seen a picture or two of this , personally was a outstanding trip so many highlights to mention, some of you may remember “meat n cheese” or “meet n cheese” . Talking Laurie through longer flights with our headsets ( BbTalkin) . Luke mastering his jumping also using the headsets .
Gina my wife ( Beach support) as her job title goes ! also joined us , she all things land based sorting out accommodation to lunch to evening restaurant reservations, or perhaps a trip for the non wingfoiling partners .

We also last year organised a local Eastcoastwatersports Social on Mersea island mid summer , we were blessed with some perfect wind / full sun , I was totally shocked on the turn out , thanks to you all who came along it was such a hit , we had Brian and Sam with their super cool vintage VW coffee van 🚐. Myself and Gina put on a few drinks and snacks .
We had local Fluidlines with us plus the kind offering of the windsurf club to host our social in the club on the island.
We’re thinking of doing another social similar this year to possibly include camping overnight next door ! With a couple of ideas I’ve got in mind for the wingfoiling , please contact me if you think this could be a good idea please.

For the remaining of the summer I concentrated on helping many people on the water from teaching safety rescues / that first time standing up with the wind moving you along . With our approach I believe it’s the perfect foundation , it stays with you for the rest of your Wingfoiling career , your all superhero’s.

We re visited El Medano again with a fabulous group again , got our van so we were fully mobile if needed 🚐 . We found a new location on the south coast of the island and it certainly delivered a top day with 20mph cross shore conditions/ Full sun . Mick certainly developed new skills here with myself and Will /mick having blasts out to sea, credit to Martin that day for helping on the camera.
Back in El Medano :- Great work to the team with everyone on the water especially the ladies on our course, was a fabulous trip with lots of progress from all . We can’t wait to go back out in November 24 .

A fair few of you may have noticed I’ve just returned from a RRD Watersports Y30 Dealer meeting in Sardinia , this is a yearly event that RRD promotes all of there new equipment to attendees plus the global market get a look also on all the new hot products :- on the trip we all have morning conference meetings then get to test all the equipment in the afternoon , there’s probably over 200 people at the event flying in globally, it’s great for me meeting old and new friends alike , one of the biggest highlights of the week was for me joining Roberto for dinner on night No1 and him asking me how’s “Eastcoastwatersports” going ! Just WoW .
So I got to test lots of equipment and partied with the Italians , of course I’ve a few stories to tell of my trip to Sardinia , these will include Whitey ! Sally will be happy Dave’s home in one piece !

This years plans for us :-

We’re always here for the perfect U.K. lesson , a small group or on a one to one basis ! Inflation is up but our U.K. lesson pricing isn’t we’re still £100 , use all of our kit or we’ll tune you on yours .

All our options are tuneable for you , so please contact for more details , take your own kit or rent from the centre we teach from ( I arrange a pre hire with the company just tell me your ideal size , we can also exchange kit while we’re there too) .
No wind day ! Fancy a bike / sup / e foil / mountain trek / we found out Tenerife is one of the hotspots for star gazing we can help organise this if required.
We travel at the best time and use all my experience to deliver you the best way to develop your wingfoiling , we all socialise in the evenings , travel with us or bring your partner also we’re all about delivering the all round package.

Tenerife El Medano 8th to 13th 2025 :-
We’ll meet you at Tenerife South airport, we’ll liaise with you for other people going to share lifts to U.K. airport if required. Accoms in prime spot in El Medano , only a couple of minutes walk to the centre , sorting your kit I can arrange at the centre also.
